Having reviewed resumes for nearly 8-9 hours a day for the past 2 years has sort of turned me into a resume snob! I am by no means a resume writing expert; however, I share my hiring managers’ habit of ignoring the countless ‘hard to read’ resumes I receive, or those found online.
So, what in the world is a “hard to read” resume?
To me, the hard to read resume, is one I just cannot follow. And, if you think about it, if a recruiter can’t follow your resume, then you can say goodbye to a future employer actually reading it as well. We are far more patient.
So here’s a list of common mistakes on resumes; in no particular order:
