I’m Mel Reyes,
Engagement Manager
at Vivo.

Q&A:

Engagement Manager
1 Year at Vivo | 3 Years in the Industry

What’s the one app you can’t live without?

Google Maps! I have a horrible sense of direction.

In an alternate universe, what would your profession be?

A food critic. I would travel the world and eat amazing food.

What’s your least favorite interview question?

“What is your worst trait?” My honest answer is, I love to binge watch Game of Thrones, but of course I can’t say this in an interview. The answer you’re getting is probably the best of the worst. You’ll never get an honest answer with this question.

What’s your favorite Halloween costume ever?

My 2015 costume, which was a banana. It required little effort, but I got the reaction I was looking for. It was my second month with Vivo, and Marilyn made me sing “Peanut Butter Jelly Time.” The video is still used today.

Tell us about your favorite April Fool’s Day prank that was played on you.

My brother-in-law is a huge prankster. Within the first year of knowing him, he decided to post my car on craigslist for a ridiculously low price. I ended up getting a bunch of calls. Of course I was confused, so I called Paul, my fiancé, and he immediately knew it was the work of his brother.

 About
 Bio:

As a Bay Area native, Mel Reyes didn’t have to venture too far from home in order to join Vivo. Before working at Vivo, Mel led a team of 150 consultants at IT staffing firm Pyramid Consulting, where she was the point of contact for all of their consultants on the West Coast. Mel’s ability to develop relationships with each member of her team—despite the volume of personnel—allowed her to dramatically improve the company’s attrition rate.

As much as she loves Vivo, Mel doesn’t spend all of her time there. She loves spending time with her family and French bulldog Lani, visiting friends on the weekends, and traveling when possible. Mel is particularly fond of Hawaii, with one of her most memorable travel experiences being when she swam with sharks off the coast of Oahu in 2015.
